Fashion PR is an online world.

Spring/Summer 2013

Some may say that fashion has nothing to do with them, wake up in the morning and select a lumpy sweater, pair of jeans and sneakers from your wardrope because you trying to tell the world that you take yourself to seriously to care about what you wear, however the clothes we choice to wear everyday are a true reflection of our personalities, they tell a story about you as an individual and mostly the type of mood that your in. fashion is love, an art and an expression.

fashion is not just keep on the runway, the media is also an essential aspect for fashion more especially print media as there are famed fashion publications such as your Vogue, Elle, Glamour and GQ which set the standard for whats considered on-trend in any given season and as a PRP it is our job to find inroads with editors at these magazines to get our clients featured. Thats where branding comes in, meaning that the image of the brand is important not any brand is featured in these magazines as such your Louis Vitton and Christrian Louboutins of the industry. Gone are those days of only household-named, fashion week-represented brands are now in the pages and blogs that influence masses. online communication has opened up the field for up-and-coming brands.

Fashion Publicist

Public relations and fashion? I thought that all the hard work that goes into creating a fashion line and promoting it was done by the designer yet i was proven otherwise. Public relations is an essantial aspect of fashion, as it is used basically on all operations besides designing such as the nam, the brand, image, magazine credits you name it all hectic and complicated staff that go into creating and promoting a fashion line are done by a public relations practioner.

fashion is a big world and it can bre hard to control, everyone wants to be a designer or a trend setter but only a few are able to get it right fashion is not for everyone one could say its a passion and so on, we all have different views when it comes to fashion and different fashion sense. As a public relations practioner one spends most of the time focusing on gaining exposure for the fashion line, from communication with editors and seeing what styles they need for upcomming shoots, to talking to celebrity stylists and coordinating which looks would be great for clients, setting up photo shoots and interviews...

There are different types of fashion PR such as your in-house which maily focuses on one brand, its easier reason being that one gets a chance to connect with the line, build relationships with the editors, stylists, design team and so on and theres agency PR which focuses on all the brands that the agency has compared to in-house agency Pr has the most work and the challenge would be dealing with different personalities. Who would have thought that theres so much hard work that goes behind creating and promoting a fashion lineand the outcome would be the glitz and glamour that everyone enjoys. fashion is after all a business...
